Nelse

When I was growing up in a suburb just outside of London, my friend Pete and I would dismantle anything mechanical and attempt to build and use the rendered parts for any project that we worked on. Eventually he had a huge suitcase full of these parts of odds and ends, and it was referred to as Nelse.

Here is a gathering of computer related Nelse - research ideas, hacks and odd documents and notes that I have kept on my computer over the years.

Cargo Cult Science - By Richard Feynman.

Fifteen Answers to Creationist Nonsense - From a Scientific American article a few years' ago.

GNU Make manual - In one big HTML page suitable for searching.

Useful Knots - Ten of the most useful knots.

Tomato Soup Recipe - Tomato soup recipe to kill for.

User Manuals for Work and Home - Downloaded PDF files for my electronics

PDL Book - A local copy of the PDL Book from the CVS pages.

PDL for Beginners Book - Not as good as the above book, but more useful for module writing.

PGPLOT Manual - A local copy of the manual for Tim Pearson's excellent PGPLOT routines.

PDL Function List - All PDL functions from 2.4.3 in one HTML page.
