The computer group consists of four people: Tycho Bot, Erik Deul (head), David Jansen and Aart Vos. Both Deul and Jansen have obtained a Ph.D. degree in Astronomy at the Sterrewacht, although they specialize now in IT matters. The computer group designs and maintains the computing and telecommunication structure at the Sterrewacht. It is one of the most highly qualified such groups in the University.
The group is located in a corner on the fifth floor of the Huygens Laboratory, in rooms 508 and 509a, b, ands c. On the rare occasion when they are not busy, they may be approached in person (try the coffee break ...). However, they much prefer that any problems with computers, printers etc. are reported by using the on-line helpdesk form. The helpdesk, and much more information than you may reasonably be expected to require, can be found at their website:

Not only does Erik Deul run the Sterrewacht computer group, but he is also the man deciding what room you will be placed in, what furniture goes with it, what computer and what telephone. As if this is not enough, he also supervises the secretariat.
